About
My goal is to see every state by the end of 2016 by traveling to one state per month from March-November of each year. I’ve completed two full years and have learned a lot about eating vegan on the go, making sure my equipment and car are in working order, finding cheap (yet clean and comfortable) hotels, and what my limits are.
The types of things I seek out on these trips:
-
Abandoned places and urban decay
-
Defunct amusement parks
-
Serene and untouched natural places
-
Unusual places off the beaten path
-
Vegan food
-
Architectural wonders such as huge bridges and ornate buildings
The ground rules for my trips:
-
I never spend more than one night in any section of the state
-
I drive to and from the state in my 2006 Honda Civic (unless it’s impossible, but so far this has worked)
-
I try not to leave the state I’m visiting while I’m en route to other points within the state
-
I have a corresponding “bucket list” and I cross off one item per trip.
I hope you enjoy the blog, and I look forward to hearing your comments!

Hope you make it to all of em 🙂
Last year was a bit tough because I started a new job, chaired a fundraising committee for several months, and ran my first half marathon! This year I’m hoping to stay on track, and my next trip is scheduled for late March. I’m really itching to get on the road!
Do it up! Congrats on the new job and run! Let me know when you make it to Montana, I am curious to check that place out because it’s so close to me now. I have never been there, but will probably head out there this spring 🙂

Yes, I remember meeting you, and I appreciate your thoughtful comments. I just saw the post yesterday afternoon. Very helpful, and I’m glad I inspired you! Thank you for linking to my blog; it’s always nice to get new visitors.
One of these days I will either get a refund for the composition class I signed up for, or they will actually have it… !
I have been looking at your photos and I’m in awe of many. I’m impressed that you work, train and still manage to take a photo a day.
Thank you so much Sherri! I’m so glad you are enjoying the blog. I’ll be posting some more pictures soon. I met this guy who goes on awesome explorations, and he’s been kind enough to let me tag along. But now I have so many pictures I’ve taken recently that I can’t even get through looking at them with everything else that’s going on!
